Thank God for South West trains.
Thank God for South West trains. For the 3rd day running I was unable to board the 07:31 from Oldfield Park due to it being full and standing on arrival. There were over 100 people on teh platform unable to board a train. Fortunately there was a delayed South West train ten minutes later whch although packed, I was able to board. The guard seemed to delight in blaming the overcrowding on FGR service cuts!
I evntually arrived at Bristiol Temple Meads at 8:12, still late for work, but had I had to wait for a FWR train that I could actually boprd God know how late I would have been.

That was the day that the 0658 departure from Dorchester was cancelled (it's an unmanned station, so passengers had found this out by using the customer info point). A fellow passenger had to ring National Rail Enquiries and was eventually told that 'taxis would be arranged'. Seeing as I needed to be in Bristol that morning, the next train (if that ran either) was two hours away and there was no way of knowing how long the taxis would take to be organised, I got my father to give me a lift to Westbury (a lot further than he was going). Difficult to have confidence in the company when conditions so poor.
