The Rush You Home hospital
We know that the Bath Royal United Hospital is one of the worst in the country. Government stats and television documentaries have shown us that. Now the RUH(Rush U Home as we Bath residents fondly refer to it) have sent home a blind, confused 84 year old woman, in her nightie, in a taxi, despite the fact that your family were on stand by to come and pick her up.
Such indifference and poor communication is not unusual as we know. One would hope that some one would lose their job over this, but public sector staff rarely lose their jobs just because they can't do them.
At teh same time we here that the RUH is installing a bed-side TV and telephone system for patients that will charge 40p a minute for incoming local calls. No doubt the RUH take their cut of that extortionate profit. One wonders what their priorities are.
