Bath City or Team Bath

Went to see Bath City play Team Bath at Twerton Park on bank holiday Monday. It was a little confusing since although Twerton Park is Bath City's ground, they rent it to Team Bath(The Bath University team). So Bath City were playing away at their own ground!

Anyway, it was great entertainment, with City winning 4-0. The students came in from a lot of stick from the City fans, who far out numbered those from Team Bath; and took great delight in hassling the Team Bath team about their student lifestyle. City fans feel that the student team is subsidised by tax-payers simply to play football, whilst the City players all have full time jobs. Crys of "You're not a student" were directed towards players that, looking at the player profiles, appear to be ex-professional footballers who are now "students" at the University.
"You would'nt exist if there was Tory government" was another amuseing comment.

My allegiance will be with City(probably because they are currently 2nd in the Southern League Premier Division), but it will be interesting the follow the fortunes of the 2 teams over the season.

If you enjoy football then take yourself down to Twerton Park. With 2 teams to support there are plenty of fixtures.
