Wednesday 24th January

I think I got the delayed 07:31 today(6 minutes late, 3 carriages), and presume everyone else got onto the preceding South west trains service?

The 06:56 service from Bath was nearly an hour late I believe.

If you have any more info please post a comment.

Sadly two conductors and an on-train ticket examiner (two female) were physically assaulted by passengers in the last two days. I don't know the details but one incident was at Keynsham and the Police caught the offenders. both female staff are unable to work at present.

I know the present situation is frustrating and causing serious disruption to people's lives but we staff have no control over FGW policies or availability of trains.

Because the Company we work for is now a fair target for abuse and insult, there is a noticeable deterioration in attitude towards us. But we are not the Company and do not support their (or the Government's) transport policy for the region. Like most people we work to earn a wage to support our families. We are sorry for what is happening but can do less about it than you. Please continue to direct your excellent and powerful protests in the right direction.

I salute all those of you who have used your anger, skill and contacts to create such unprecedented national publicity. Press cuttings are plastered over our mess rooms. We fully support you. Thanks.

As a regular commuter from Oldfield Park, I would like to extend my (no doubt all of our) sympathy to the FGW staff who were assaulted, via your good self, Whistleblower.
All along the point has been made that we do NOT blame the people on the ground, because we all know you're as hacked off with the situation as we are. OK, frustration is understandable - physical violence is not. I'm glad at least one of the offenders was caught, and I'm sure they will be duly punished. More than that, I hope they are thoroughly ashamed of themselves

I have created a web site to make it easy for passengers to place a complaint. I will
forward the complaints to the appropriate rail company. http://www.railvoice.co.uk
