Tuesday 16th January

So the much heralded 4 carriages on the 07:31 lasted...1 day. Today we were down to 3...and the train was late. How long before we are back down to 2 again.

How do our local M.P.s feel about being lied to so blatently?

Its shame shame we'll all be at work as tomorrow from 10:40 to 11:10 FGW will be introducing their new look refurbished High Speed Train to the media in platform 11 at Bristol Temple Meads. Senior management and DfT officials will be in attendance.

More reliability problems again today and other services were cancelled or combined to cobble together three cars for the 0731. The 0806 Cardiff was down to two cars but had plenty of spare seats as it was closely following the delayed 0731. This train was brought empty from Bristol to Westbury very early as no train was available at Westbury overnight. Unfortunately an air leak caused it to fail on the approach to the Severn Tunnel. The first time for a week that it had even got that far! It blocked the main line for an hour and was rescued by the Fareham to Cardiff train and both services were terminated at Newport. But did I see a FGW manager at Oldfield Park?
