10th December

Another relaxing journey home with First GreatWestern. The 1507 was 17 minutes late and the carriage had no lights.

06:56 Bath to Cardiff was cancelled, and there was no 07:03 stopping service back up in the new timetable.

You also missed the fun and games at BTM later in the evening. The incoming 17:52 was 10 mins late, which would have missed the 18:00 connection we're now having to make at Bristol.

Thankfully it was 15 mins late.

18:07 service to Westbury (stopping to OP) was cancelled (and dropped off the departure board, to pretend it never planned to run) and confusion reigned when platform staff couldn't decide whether to allow the late running 18:00 or the 18:22 to make extra stops at Keynsham and Oldfield Park. They decided it would be the 18:22 moments after the 18:00's door's were locked, so I had to walk back from Bath. I imagine it would have been rammed anyway.

Total Chaos, as usual. I can't wait to pay 10% more for this terrible service!

Here's some good news for you. From the FGW website (12/11/2007) :

07:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour due 10:52
This train has been revised. It will additionally call at: Keynsham and Oldfield Park. This is due to an earlier train fault.
