Tuesday February 20th

The 07:31 was 20 minutes late today so we all had to crowd onto the South West trains service.
To add to the wonderful experience the ticket seller at Oldfield Park was unable to sell me a ticket because his machine at the OldfieldPark ticket office was broken again so I had to join the long queue at Temple Meads barrier to buy a ticket, the train being too crowded to but a ticket on board. This is the 2nd week in a row this has happened.

If you join the train where the guard is he will be able to sell you a ticket and save queueing at Bristol

The South West Trains guards don't come round much anyway, even on empty trains, personally I go on the SWT service for the fact that it is much nicer & you are 99% guranteed to get a 3 car train with nice seats!

I have finally recieved a reply to my letter from Alison Forster. Apart from the usual bumf you'd expect in regard to railway investments etc. she has said that any compensation claims for former Wessex trains services should be paid for delays of over 30 mins. The 60 min delay rule is for the HST trains only and previous refusal to pay outfor delays between 30-60 minutes is a mistake. So write back to FGW for any claims you've had "mistakenly" turned down during December and January.

Hello! Just discovered your blog today. I've been tracking one FGW train from Penzance to Paddington every day this week and not once has it been on time. I wonder what Ms. Forster would say to that. Probably that trains are supposed to be delayed and overcrowded. She doesn't give a damn about customer service. Check out my blog: http://cardiffcentral.blogspot.com
